City Pages announced today its new annual downtown music festival, 10 Thousand Sounds, will take place Saturday, June 22, 2013 in Minneapolis, the hub of the vibrant Twin Cities music scene.
The single-stage, outdoor event will be held near Eighth Street and Hennepin Avenue from 4 p.m. – 10 p.m. and offer a multi-genre lineup anchored by the Walkmen and Free Energy. With a wide range of local talent rounding out the bill, the festival is sure to offer Minnesotans an eclectic, energized evening of live music. With the artists performing near local music landmarks, the buzzing downtown atmosphere will offer a unique backdrop for the alt-weekly’s music festival, an endeavor they plan to grow after its launch in 2013.
Festival-goers can enjoy the inaugural event by purchasing a general admission wristband for $20 or a VIP wristband for $45. The upgrade to VIP offers attendees access to an exclusive area with preferred seating and a catered experience.
Tickets are set to go on sale to the public on Friday, April 12. Presale tickets will be available for purchase with exclusive access codes starting Monday, April 8.
