McNally Smith College of Music is excited to announce that four of its students are participating in a show entitled MN Music Now & Then at the Triple Rock Social Club Sunday, December 9. Kara Laudon, Connor McDaniel (Road of Girl), and Bree Melechinsky and Zack Warpinski (Cool Dog) will all be lending their talents to this special gig.
MN Music Now & Then is a celebration of Minnesota music, showcasing talented artists from the Twin Cities performing a combination of original music and songs from the past. The event hopes to rekindle memories of music that has impacted not only our community, but introduced “the Minneapolis sound” to the world. On December 9 at the Triple Rock Social Club, The Farewell Circuit, The Pinsch, Cedar Avenue, Martin Devaney, Savannah Smith, and many more will cover songs by legends such as Prince, Bob Dylan, The Replacements, Husker Du, and The Jayhawks, while adding their own personal music styles.
All proceeds from the show will go to Vega Productions – a non-profit organization that strives to provide resources and programing for Minnesota schools forced to eliminate or reduce music and arts education from their curriculum. Tickets are $5 in advance and $8 at the door. Tickets are on sale at the Triple Rock, the Electric Fetus, Eclipse Records, Red Savoy (Uptown), and online via TicketFly.
